RURAL CAMP FOR AGES 7 -13
Alea Summer Camp in Vegafría is a camp with 60 places in a quiet and safe environment: the small village of Vegafría, 160 km from Madrid, in the autonomous region of Castilla y León, between the cities of Segovia and Valladolid. Twenty inhabitants live here, where you can still find non asphalted squares and streets.

The participants stay at an ancient 19th century house, made of wood and stone, as typical ones in the region. This house has been restored for tourism. There is a program full of games, crafts and sports for campers. These activities are held in English for two hours and a half a day, which allows Spanish children being immersed in an English speaking environment and English-speakers campers comparing their cultural differences and sharing personal experiences. Native counselors of our team carry out this part of the program, guaranteeing the participants take the best out of this exchanging experience.

SPORTS Classic sports, played with the strange and funny Vegafría's rules: volley, badminton, hockey, soccer...

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKSHOPS Entertaining workshops for bringing campers closer to the environment, learning about the animals and plants living around us and discovering them how to become wise stewards of the earth's natural resources.

SPORTS IN NATURE Practicing exciting sports in contact with nature, learning a respectful way of enjoying it.

CREATIVE HANDCRAFTS Making juggle-balls, practicing percussion, decorating t-shirts, making bracelets, plastic arts, videoforum...

EVENING ACTIVITIES AND SPECIAL GAMES Parties, storytelling, game shows, performances, astronomy, thematic days, festivals, night of horrors ...

EXCURSIONS Discovering a region plenty of remote and wonderful places: excursion to the thousand year old city of Segovia and its medieval castle, the "valle de los 6 sentidos" in Valladolid or the old village of Peñafiel

ENGLISH & SPANISH The activities will be carried out in English for two hours and a half a day (except for the excursions). This time represents an exchanging space where the integration and the curiosity about different cultures and lifestyles are specially fostered. Native counselors lead this part of the program. They will also be especially attentive to English-speakers campers.

CAMPING OUT Children have the chance of camping a night out in a pine forest situated just one km away from camp site in Vegafría. They walk to that place in the afternoon, then make a workshop about outdoors skills and have a star watching overnight before going to sleep. Next morning they come back.
